i think 1989 was best year of Spectrum: many many games and almost really good: Forgotten Worlds, ChaseHQ, Batman, Carrier Command(incredible strategy game for my 128k speccy)
the speccy may have been in decline in 89 but that was when i was getting into both 8bit and 16bit machines and still enjoyed both equally. and there were still some good new games released, i would say 1992 was when it was well and truly over. i look forward to 1990 and 1991 editions, keep it up!
I'm amazed that people were still buying spectrum games in this year when the commodore 64 had better colours etc and by 1990 most had switched to an amiga the colours in this years games were woeful and terrible clunky graphics ok in 1984 but they out stayed their welcome.
the c64 may of had more colors but the graphics were better on the spectrum, renegade for example was the best conversion of the lot on the speccy, the 16bit conversions were terrible, vigilante was another example, outrun was another, not saying all games on the speccy were better though
Wec Le mans,Stunt car racer and Hard Drivin I loved those games so much, I still believe that speccy games (and SWOS on Amiga) were better than anything around today..So playable.
